The Walt Disney Company was delighted to participate in Pride in Dublin for the first time on Saturday, 30 June 2018.
Disney Pride UK & Ireland’s Rob Guckian described the day: “The sun was truly shining on Dublin on Saturday as an incredible crowd of 60,000 people saw Disney march through the streets of Dublin as part of the city’s annual Pride celebration.”
Despite the crowd doubling in size year-on-year, it would have been hard to miss Disney’s first foray into the event having come equipped with over 3,000 Mickey-Mouse shaped balloons. The marching group of 50 contained people from across numerous lines of business from the Dublin and Hammersmith offices, as well as staff from The Disney Store, who brought their incomparable joy and enthusiasm.
Ireland continues to be one of the most progressive countries in the world for LGBT rights, having been the first country to legalise gay marriage by popular vote in 2015, and it was incredible to be able to take part in Dublin Pride with such whole hearted support from The Walt Disney Company.
Thank you to everyone in the TWDC UK & Ireland offices who took part in Dublin Pride.
