On 27th March, Anna and Elsa left their Kingdom of Arendelle to bring some Frozen magic to The Children’s Memorial Health Institute in Warsaw, Poland.
The Children’s Memorial Health Institute is one of the largest specialist paediatric hospitals in Poland. Disney Poland have supported the hospital for nearly 5 years with initiatives such as opening a Disney themed theatre in a waiting room, delivering new Disney Junior content every three months and hosting special events such as Star Wars Celebrations with ward visits from R2-D2 and Stormtroopers. The partnership is part of the Walt Disney Company’s global commitment to deliver comfort and inspiration to families with children facing serious illness. Together we work with others to help build emotional resilience, leveraging the power of our brand, storytelling and characters to inspire and create Moments that Matter for children and those closest to them, when they need it the most.
With help of 5 Disney VoluntEARS, Disney Poland were able to deliver 300 Moments that Matter for children at the hospital. The special day included a screening of Frozen followed by the opportunity to meet Queen Elsa and Princess Anna. The children then received a goodie bag packed with Frozen games and Mickey ears. The Disney magic filled the hospital with beaming smiles and a lot of excitement. The children, their families and the hospital staff all had a wonderful time.
Katarzyna Westermark, General Manager, Disney Central Eastern Europe said, “For nearly five years we have been supporting The Children’s Memorial Health Institute by uplifting children and providing Moments that Matter at a demanding time in their lives. Through our “Frozen” event, we were able to reach more than 300 children with the gift of making an ordinary day, a time filled with joy and happiness.”
