Disney+ has announced a new three-season agreement that will bring LALIGA to customers in France from the 2026/27 season. Every match will stream live on ESPN on Disney+, the included offering that gives customers access to live sports, studio shows, original programming and more.
For the first time, customers will be able to stream all 380 live matches each season as part of their existing subscription, with every match available in French. Produced by ESPN, the coverage will bring a fresh, distinctive approach, combining expert commentary and weekly highlights for existing and younger fans alike. With the 2026/27 season kicking off on 15 August, French fans will be able to enjoy comprehensive live coverage from the opening matchday.
LALIGA features some of the most iconic clubs in world football, from Atlético Madrid, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona to European contenders such as Villarreal CF, Sevilla and Real Betis. Alongside high-profile fixtures such as EL CLÁSICO, the Madrid Derby and Seville’s El Gran Derbi, the competition is home to many of the finest and most high-profile players in world football.
The new agreement also comes at a moment of exceptional excitement for European football. Following this summer’s FIFA World Cup, fans will once again be able to watch many of Les Bleus’ biggest stars every week in LALIGA EA SPORTS, including Kylian Mbappé, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga and Jules Koundé. LALIGA EA SPORTS was also the best-represented domestic competition in the FIFA World Cup Final, with 24 of the 52 players across Spain and Argentina’s squads representing LALIGA clubs during the 2025/26 season.
The launch in France further strengthens ESPN’s long-standing relationship with LALIGA globally. In the United States, ESPN and LALIGA have a long-term agreement making ESPN the English and Spanish language home of LALIGA through the 2028/29 season, bringing fans hundreds of matches each year. Across Europe, ESPN on Disney+ continues to expand LALIGA’s availability, including through the recent announcement of a new exclusive four-season agreement covering Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland from the 2026/27 season. In the UK and Ireland, ESPN on Disney+ also brings fans one live LALIGA match every Saturday night.
Karl Holmes, General Manager, Disney+ EMEA, said: “We’re excited to bring LALIGA to all Disney+ France customers in a fresh new way. LALIGA has a strong connection with football fans in France, with many French players making their mark in Spain alongside iconic clubs and unforgettable rivalries, making it a great addition.
