As a partner of the Global Food Market (SIAL), Disney Healthy Living presented awards to three innovations at a ceremony on 24th October.
SIAL Paris is a global showcase for the food industry that brings the key producers and buyers together with a focus on the world’s major challenges and reveals the trends and innovations that shape the food industry of tomorrow.
A group of experts met at the beginning of October in the Disney France premises to select two innovation winners and one ‘Coup de Coeur’ from around 20 products which had to meet the following criteria: products suitable for children and their families which include recipes and ingredients that support nutrition and health criteria as well as combining fun and pleasure.
By joining forces with SIAL, recognized as a forerunner of innovations in the food sector, Disney is demonstrating its desire to develop innovative products to encourage children and their families to adopt a healthy lifestyle.
The two innovation winners were Cool P’tit chef from Vitabio, an easy cook kid’s meal which includes innovative vegetable prep for children and BeKIDS from Betters International, freeze-dried fruit in an easy stick for children, without added sugars and packaged with a playful design.
The ‘Coup de Coeur’ prize, or the jury’s favourite, unanimously went to Italian brand Rolli for its organic riced broccoli and cauliflower. The product has received the CSQA certification for the use of renewable energy and was chosen for the playfulness of preparation of two vegetables rarely loved by children which makes it possible to promote family cooking.
