Disney UK supported The Great Big Kickabout from 14 – 16 June in conjunction with the highly anticipated release of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4. The campaign encourages thousands of people to grab their mates, get a ball, and have a game of footy to raise money for Soccer Aid for Unicef.
As part of The Walt Disney Company’s wider Healthy Living commitment to encourage kids and families to get active and be healthy, for every Great Big Kickabout booking at Goals centres over the weekend, Disney donated £10 to Soccer Aid for Unicef. The money raised will help make sure that children around the world are happy, healthy, and safe to play. Better still, every pound donated to Soccer Aid for Unicef until 23 July 2019 will be matched by the UK government, doubling the difference you make to children’s lives.
During Soccer Aid weekend, Goals centres were equipped with Toy Story 4 photo opportunities and giveaways for teams, in celebration of the upcoming theatrical release on 21st June.
Coinciding with Soccer Aid, the world’s biggest celebrity charity football match, on 16th June the European Premiere of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story 4 hosted celebrity players alongside Tom Hanks (who voices the character of Woody in the movie) and filmmakers. In addition, Tom Hanks attended the match at the Chelsea FC stadium at Stamford Bridge, announcing the fundraising totaliser live on ITV and blowing the whistle at kick-off.
2019 was the most succsessful Soccer Aid for Unicef ever, raising a record breaking £7,900,319.
