Disney Italia have partnered with the famous Gaslini Hospital in Genoa to bring Disney Magic in the form of a new interactive Toy Story themed MRI room.
The Gaslini Hospital is a paediatric hospital and the MRI room’s makeover will help improve the MRI experience by reducing stress and anxiety by making the room comforting and inspirational for the children.
The Toy Story themed room was launched with a two-day event where the children got to meet much-loved characters Woody and Buzz and some of the nurses at the hospital staged a surprise dance to famous Toy Story song, ‘You’ve got a friend in me’ to cheer up and entertain the children and their parents.
Disney VoluntEARS were also on hand at the launch event and this collaboration reflects Disney’s long standing history of working with hospital partners to bring comfort and inspiration to seriously ill children and their loved ones. The partnership is part of The Walt Disney Company’s social purpose program where we work together with others to help build emotional resilience. Together we bring the power of our brand, stories and characters to inspire and create Moments that Matter for children and those closest to them, when they need it most.
President of Gaslini, Pietro Pongiglione said, “We welcome with joy this gift offered by Progetto Pinocchio, The Walt Disney Company Italy and DiaSorin, which goes exactly in the direction we have taken so that every child entrusted to our care, feels more and more like a brave little hero and less and less like a simple patient.”
