As part of Disney’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, a total of 100,000 reusable non-medical cloth face covers have been donated to children and families in local communities in need, across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In Greece, Disney has set “ELPIDA-Association of Friends of Children with Cancer” as the recipient of the donation of nearly 3,000 reusable non-medical cloth face covers featuring favorite Disney characters, to support children and families in need.
The launch of Disney’s non-medical, reusable cloth face covers are available at shopDisney, featuring favorite Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters, for children and adults alike, to bring joy in these difficult times.
Mr. Vasilis Iliopoulos, General Manager Greece & Israel at The Walt Disney Company, stated: “We are aware of how important it is to overcome the isolation that some children face and that is what we want to achieve through these collaborations. With this Disney initiative, our goal is to help reunite children in isolation and through Disney characters help them build emotional resilience when they need it most. Together with the “ELPIDA-Association of Friends of Children with Cancer”, we hope that these colorful cloth face covers will offer smiles and support to children and their families, in these difficult times. Disney’s donations have a huge impact on the societies we serve around the world, and we hope to be able to provide essential, lifesaving care to those in need, always with the help of our valuable partners in Greece.”
The Founder and President “ELPIDA-Association of Friends of Children with Cancer”, Mrs. Marianna V. Vardinoyannis, stated: “On behalf of the association, the children and their families, we would like to thank Disney for this donation. It is very important for all of us to understand the difficult situations that these children and their families face, as well as the need for psychological support and revitalization of their morale. These children are our daily heroes who fight for their lives, and we must support and inspire them. Our work does not stop here, and we hope to have Disney as our companion in the future”.
