Disney donates nearly 4,000 face coverings to children in Turkish hospitals, in partnership with the Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV)

As part of Disney’s social purpose program, the company donated 100,000 face covers to children’s hospitals across EMEA to help provide comfort to children and their families who have been affected by the social isolation conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

An example of these donations has been seen in Turkey, where Disney has collaborated with the Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV) to distribute cloth face covers to nearly 4,000 children undergoing treatment in 29 hospitals and care centers affiliated with the foundation in 16 Turkish provinces.

Cenk Soner, The Walt Disney Company Turkey General Manager said about the project: “As part of our social responsibility strategy that started with Walt Disney himself, we continue to add value and spread the magic of Disney not only with our in-kind donations but also via projects that are helping disadvantaged children in our communities in order to make their dreams come true. This cloth face cover donation project is one of the finest examples of our projects designed to use the power of our brand, characters and stories to inspire children and their families when they need it the most, to create Moments That Matter and inspire children and their families when they need it the most. We are happy to launch this project in cooperation with the Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV). The project is intended to make children and their families feel our support and to give them comfort and morale during these difficult times.”

The Head of the Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer (KAÇUV), Prof. Dr. İnci Yıldız, said: “Our foundation aims to meet the physical and social needs of patients as well as their medical needs. We know that our children under treatment need morale support more than anything. We believe that this project will help us boost their morale in partnership with Disney. We also consider it very important to engage in a partnership with Disney, the top entertainment brand in the world. We would like to thank all the executives of Disney Turkey who gave us the opportunity to work with them in this donation campaign. It is pleasing to give morale support to children and their families when they need it the most.”
